About Printmaking

I started linocut printmaking 10 years ago, having previously worked in pastels and watercolours.

Living in the South of France for some years I was drawn to  landscapes of the  wooded countryside around us, inspired by the southern light. I  also specialised in house portraits  (pen and wash),  and still use this medium when on the move, creating a series of holiday diaries which replace my need for photography.

Since moving to Wiltshire I  have joined the wonderful Black Pig studios in Frome and with the expert and encouraging tuition of Chris Pig I now concentrate on linocuts. The process is entirely hand made- from the cutting of the blocks, to the inking up and finally the printing on Surrey or Somerset paper- each print is individual.

I also cut and print a series of  colourful prints aimed at children. These can be personalised.

It is all an ongoing learning process and I hope to progress to wood engraving- a big step! The prints are all limited edition and individually numbered. They are sold unframed. The cost includes postage and packaging to the UK - they are sent promptly by me in Royal Mail tubes, ready for you to mount and frame.
